Location
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park are located in south-western Uganda on the edge of the western rift valley. Both parks are also rich in birds, chimps, monkeys and butterflies. Bwindi is one of the largest natural forests in East Africa, with both montane and low-land forest. About half of the world's population of mountain gorillas - about 300 animals - is found in Bwindi. Mgahinga, though smaller, has its unique features. One gorilla family is open to visitors here. Other activities include volcano-climbing, guided nature-walk in the Gahinga forest for primates, birds and butterflies or enjoy the breathtaking landscape!
