| Jambo!
When we start to talk about Africa, we just get so
carried away I decided to do it numerically:
1. African Quest was outstanding. They kept us on schedule
and knew our itinerary better than we did. They not
only got us to our flights on time, but waited till
the planes took off. Very friendly and informative.
2. All the camps were exceptional, the next one always
better than the last. The service was wonderful everywhere
and the people were friendly. Rick was impressed that
every driver, bartender (believe me he met a lot!) and
server was very informed on their politics and even
ours!
3. We were so lucky with the weather, not a drop of
rain and temperatures like home but without the humidity.
4. The food was unbelievable, the buffets had such a
variety and the homemade bakery and breads and especially
the soups were quite unexpected, I have at least 5lbs.
to attest to it! We had breakfast in the bush a couple
of times because of the early drives. They were always
ready to accommodate your needs.
5. We always felt safe...even though it was not the
best of situations...very sad. We rarely read a paper,
watched a tv or listened to the news except from our
drivers. But like you said, we always felt safe in the
bush.
6. The excitement of seeing the animals is something
no one can appreciate unless you experience it. I have
the pictures to prove it !!!...and movies. At last count
it was about 200, getting them developed is the next
challenge.
7. We had a few cold nights, especially at the Ark,
but the hot water bottles ready made a difference. We
are truly spoiled, between drawn bubble baths and fresh
flowers in our tents.
8. On our trip to the Ngorongoro crater, which took
us all day between several small plane rides and 3hr
jeep rides, we felt this was your only mistake. Then
as we finally arrived I literally stood and cried at
the beauty of the place.
Being a designer, the interiors just blew me away also
and I think I have almost as many pictures of this place
as I do animals!
Our memories will never fade. Thank you, John, for a
trip of a lifetime. You did an excellent job!!!!!

To all at African Quest who made
our Safari such a success,
My husband & I were part of the "Dinky Party"
who went on your tour recently. As you know my sister
Dinky consulted with you from South Africa & we flew
to Nairobi from Perth Australia to meet each other &
commence our long awaited holiday together from the Nairobi
Serena.
Not only was it wonderful for us to see each other again
after 7years but the whole trip was the most magnificent
experience we could have wished for.
We could not fault any part of the trip that AfricanQuest
put together for us. The timing , the comfort & atmoshere
of the Serena accomodation , the cuisine everywhere we
went plus the very competent & knowledgeable guides
we were allocated throughout our travels were excellent.
We learnt so much about your beautiful country & the
respect you all have for the animals & environment
was most impressive.
We were lucky enough to see an abundance of Game &
Wild life plus the spectacular sight of the famous Flamingos
on Lake Nukuru.
We have some lovely pictures in the Album you presented
us with at the end of a most memorable Safari. Thank you

SAFARIS WHEN HE BECAME UTTERLY FATIGUE.
UPON SEEING A DOCTOR IN ARUSHA WE WERE ADVISED TO GO TO
NAIROBI HOSPITAL FOR POSSIBLE CARDIAC PROBLEMS.
OUR AIR EVACUATION PLANE WAS SUPPOSED TO ARRIVE AT THE
HOSPITAL AT 5 OR 6 PM.
WE ARRIVED AT MIDNIGHT! AND THERE WAS ALICE WHO HAD BEEN
CONTACTED BY THOMSON, WAITING FROM 6 PM. SHE GUIDED US
THROUGH THE
ARCANE HOSPITAL ADMITTANCE, SAW THAT MY BROTHER WAS CARED
FOR AND SECURED A ROOM FOR ME IF I NEEDED ONE.
THE NEXT DAY, WHEN I DISCOVERED THAT KENYA DOES NOT BELONG
TO THE TOLL FREE OR COLLECT TELEPHONE SYSTEM (WHICH WERE
THE ONLY NUMBERS WE HAD FOR INSURANCE ETC.) SHE ARRANGED
FOR A DRIVER TO TAKE ME TO A CYBER CAFE IN NAIROBI
TO USE THE NET TO CALL THE U.S. WHEN MY BROTHER WE DEEMED
"FIT TO FLY," SHE AND JAMES (ONE OF HER ASSISTANTS)
MIRACULOUSLY ARRANGED TO HAVE OUR PLANE TICKET HONORED
BY KLM AND SHE TOOK US TO KLM TO HAVE PART OF THE CHANGE
FEE WAIVED AND
THEN TOOK US TO THE AIRPORT. ALL THIS WHILE SHE'S RUNNING
AROUND TOWN SERVICING YOUR DIRECT CLIENTS.
I WAS QUITE DISAPPOINTED IN NOT BEING ABLE TO ASCEND KILI,
BUT I HAD A VERY DIFFERENT ADVENTURE IN KENYA WHEREIN
I
MET MANY WONDERFUL CARING PEOPLE PERSONIFIED BY ALICE,

Dear Tasneem,
Africa has held a passion in me since childhood, having
read so much and seen so many movies, finally visiting
Kenya was beautiful. We have had a great time. Your African
Quest teams excellent planning and organization of the
trip made it so very smooth and easy and we really were
so sad to leave.
The driver/guide Godfrey was really excellent I feel lost
for words to praise him sufficiently. He was excellent,
tolerant and kind with kids, drove so well and skillfully
on the rough roads considering I am normally an impossibly
nervous back seat passenger. He was educated and had good
knowledge of the places we visited and shared my deep
interest in wildlife, nature and photography with great
enthusiasm which greatly enhanced my experience.

Just wanted to send a note to you and Jack to let you
know how much we appreciated and enjoyed our trip to Kenya!!
Although we've been a little sick since we've been back
... we are still in a dream after our trip to the safaris...
We were lucky to have had Jack as our guide. He was excellent
and made our stay even more pleasurable!! His friendliness
and knowledge of the animals made our 4 days a dream.
He was professional, yet flexible, fun and interesting....
we consider ourselves lucky to have spent our time with
him.
We totally enjoyed our stay and visit of the safaris.
Especially Amboseli, and the lodge was breath-taking -
literally having elephants and zebras in front of our
room....amazing!! The view of the safari from the hotel
at Tsavo East was AMAZING!!
We would love to come back one day. And we'll definitely
spread the word about African Quest and encourage others
to come see you.

Dear Tasneem and Hawwa
Thank you very much for your help in organizing my safari
to Masai Mara! I had wonderful time, and I appreciate
your personal attention to my trip. I have also written
to Mohammed to thank him as well.
Over the last 9 years I have undertaken 10 safaris to
Kenya, the last six being with African Quest, They are
far and away the best safari company I have ever been
with. They can supply you with the best of everything.
You must ask for a long wheelbase four wheel drive vehicle
these will get you into far better positions than the
Nissan buses. Another must is joining in with your driver
guide don't just sit and wait for him to deliver, the
more you join in the better is his job, and your holiday.
always remember you are going to see wild animals, they
are not wheeled out daily for tourists to view and coo
over, So many people fly to the reserves and miss the
road side Kenya.
It is far more exiting to drive to the reserve of your
choice. September is the best time to be on the Mara for
the crossings and if you spend time at Mara Serena Lodge
you are overlooking the plains and the Mara River and
no more than a couple of miles from one of the major crossing
points. My own favourite place on the Mara is "Fig
Tree Camp" all the staff there are now my friends
I hate leaving. Generally all Lodges and camps have top
class helpful staff. I met Taher the MD of AQS six years
ago and I now list him as one of my very close personal
friends. I find that Kenya and her people steal a part
of your heart that continually yearns to be there with
them. I am due to fly out to Kenya on the 6th of September
for our latest Safari and
I just as exited as the first time I ever went.
I could go on forever if there are any specifics please
don't hesitate to contact me.

Jambo à toute l'équipe!
Nous venons de rentrer en France après avoir
fait un merveilleux safari avec votre équipe.
Nous vous remercions beaucoup pour le bon déroulement
de ce safari, pour les bons lodges, pour le cadeau de
départ et pour notre super chauffeur MOMO qui
n'a pas ménagé sa peine pour nous montrer
le maximum de choses.
Nous sommes très heureux d'avoir pu faire un
safari privé , cela nous a permis de faire un
millier
de photos et 9h00 de vidéos dans de bonnes conditions
Je voudrais vanter les mérites d'AFRICAN QUEST
qui ont été très professionnels
du début à la fin. Pour le safari notre
guide MOHAMED (dit MOMO) nous a fait voir tout ce qu'il
pouvait, à Masaï mara après le safari
il nous a conduit à un dispensaire où
nous avons pu remettre un sac de médicaments
et de matériel médical puis à l'école
pour distribuer bonbons et stylos. Il connait parfaitement
toutes les pistes et nous a fait voir des choses merveilleuses.
Pour le séjour à MOMBASA c'est ALI qui
a pris le relais, il parle un excellent français.
Nous avons appréciéle cadeau qu'il nous
a offert au départ, on ne s'y attendait pas...
il nous a également rapporté un souveniroublié
dans le véhicule .
Ils ont vraiment été tous adorables et
je crois que nous ne sommes pas prêt d'oubliercette
merveilleuse aventure.

Jambo! Back in Paris to the cold
weather!
Although you may have already read our commentsheet by
now, this is just a brief mail to thank you for an amazing
trip! Everything went perfect from start to finish, in
fact it went so well that we were quite sad to leave Kenya.
Noor was an excellent driver/guide, his keen eye for wildlife
and his friendly disposition made for an excellent safari,
in fact we missed him quite a bit during the "beach"
part of our stay. When we come back (who knows when),
we would like to have Noor as our guide....inshallah!
Pinewood Village was also great, the beach, the service
and our "seafaris" were all top notch.
Thanks once again for making our trip an amazing experience,
we will definitely recommend African Quest to our friends
and family, and will no doubt use African Quest when we
make our return to Kenya. "
